The study will reveal the list of most commonly used anti-hypertensive and anti-diabetic drugs in Bangladesh, their generic names, price and manufacturing companies. It will also tell us the 1st line drug recommendations for hypertension and diabetes by national and international bodies. Not only it will enhance business potentials for the manufacturing companies, production of generic drugs will lower the cost at consumer end and will decrease the out of pocket expenditure of the patients in Bangladesh. This TA has been proposed to identify some evidences with which GoB can be able to convince pharmaceuticals companies in production and manufacturing of generic drugs in Bangladesh, starting from anti-hypertensive and anti-diabetic drugs. Availability of these drugs in generic name will reduce the cost, which will in turn beneficial for the patients in reducing out-of-pocket expenditure.
